How the light gets in: an urban foraging and anthotype workshop

Mark the lightest time of the year through urban foraging, anthotype making and wild nibbles with Samuel Arnold Keane & Kasia Kaminska.
In collaboration with Basic Space Dublin
23rd June 2023 | 1-6pm
MART Gallery Rathmines
From the plants growing from cracks in concrete, to prints made with the sun, during this workshop we will look at how the light gets in and learn new and illuminating ways of connecting with our environment. This workshop will begin with a foraging walk in the areas surrounding MART where we will get to know some of the wild plants growing in the city. This will be followed by an anthotype workshop – a unique form of image making which utilises the light sensitivity of plants and light from the sun to create photographic prints. After the workshop we invite participants to stay a while to chat and enjoy some wild nibbles and refreshments in the midsummer sun.
1pm – 6pm (Foraging Walk 1 – 2.45pm / Break 2.45 – 3pm / Anthotype Workshop 3 – 5pm / Nibbles & Chats 5 – 6pm)
Max amount of people: 12 max
Cost: 10 euros
All materials will be provided. Please keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately.
